Code of Conduct

Welcome to Guided LXP! We are thrilled to have you here and are committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment for all. To ensure everyone has a positive experience, we have established the following code of conduct:

‍Respect and Kindness

• Treat all members of the community with respect, empathy, and kindness, regardless of their background, identity, or beliefs.
• Refrain from engaging in personal attacks, harassment, or discrimination of any kind.
• Be mindful of the impact your words and actions can have on others, and strive to communicate in a constructive and thoughtful manner.

Unacceptable Behaviors

We do not tolerate:

• The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances of any kind
• Insulting or derogatory comments, taunting or baiting, belittling or disrespectful comments, and personal or political attacks
• Public or private harassment
• Publishing others' private information without their explicit permission
• Intentionally misleading or misinforming others
• Spam or content designed to create backlinks
• Malicious behavior, harassment, discrimination, and offensive language in reference to age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, level of experience, nationality, neurodiversity, personal appearance, race, religion, political affiliation, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or technology choices
• Illegal activities
• Publishing or sharing explicit content 
• Influencing or inciting unacceptable behavior and activities
• Retaliation against those who raise concerns or make reports in good faith

Consequences for engaging in these unacceptable behaviors may include:

• Loss of privileges, such as access to certain features or functions of the community
• Temporary suspension or banning from the community, depending on the severity of the offense
• Mandatory time-outs or "cool-down" periods where the user is temporarily restricted from participating
• Written apologies to the affected members of the community
• Restitution, such as compensating for any damage caused by the unacceptable behavior
• Revoked access to community platforms
• Termination of membership

Inclusivity and Diversity

• Celebrate the diversity of our community and recognize the value that different perspectives and experiences bring.
• Be open-minded and willing to learn from others, even if their views differ from your own.

Constructive Dialogue

• Engage in respectful and productive discussions, focusing on the topic at hand rather than personal attacks.
• If you disagree with someone, do so in a constructive manner, offering alternative viewpoints or solutions rather than simply criticizing.
• Avoid the use of inflammatory language, personal insults, or other forms of disruptive behavior.

Moderation and Reporting

• If you witness or experience any behavior that violates this code of conduct, please report it to the course authors or the administrators.
• We reserve the right to take appropriate action, which may include warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the community, depending on the severity of the offense.

Commitment to Growth and Learning

• We are all on a journey of growth and learning, and we encourage everyone to approach interactions with an open and curious mindset.
• If you make a mistake or inadvertently cause harm, be willing to acknowledge it, apologize, and strive to do better in the future.
• Likewise, be receptive to feedback and constructive criticism, as it can help us all improve and strengthen our community.
